Puppies and kittens have special needs they may have undetected health problems such as internal parasites from their mothers. An initial puppy or kitten exam should be administered within the first weeks of life to check for such problems so de-worming or other measures can help correct them. Vaccinations are another critical wellness step for puppies and kittens since many common infectious diseases can prove fatal on the first exposure.

During a new puppy or kitten exam the doctor will do a detailed exam to make sure the animal is healthy, he will check knees, heart, eyes, and ears. We will get the animal up to date on vaccines to help prevent any illness and do a fecal to check for any intestinal parasites. We will also get you started on flea/tick and heartworm preventative.
