Puppy and Kitten Wellness Checkups

Puppies and kittens have special needs. They may have undetected health problems, such as internal parasites from their mothers. An initial puppy or kitten exam should be administered within the first weeks of life to check for such issues so deworming or other measures can help correct them. Vaccinations are another critical wellness step for puppies and kittens since many common infectious diseases can prove fatal on the first exposure.

During a new puppy or kitten exam, the doctor will perform a detailed exam to ensure the animal is healthy. He will check the knees, heart, eyes, and ears. We will update the animal on vaccines to help prevent illness and do a fecal check for intestinal parasites. We will also get you started on flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.
